Sara Lundberg, Sweden

Sara Lundberg, born 1971, trained as an illustrator in the USA. She spent almost ten years illustrating other writers’ work before her debut picture book Vita streck, showcasing her own writing and illustrations. Published in autumn 2011, its successor Vita streck och Öjvind was nominated for the 2013 Nordic Council Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize. Sara Lundberg received the Heffaklumpen children’s and young people’s culture prize in 2013 for her book Öjvind och världens ände. Autumn 2015 saw the publication of Vita, Öjvind och ingenting, the fourth volume in the award-winning series. Sara Lundberg’s work has travelled across Europe in individual and group exhibitions, with the artist herself taking to the stage as far away as Nepal.
